Game details. The goal is to destroy the alien threat and to protect the world from destruction or further invasion. The intensely detailed graphics convey the atmospheres to a future like setting. Each mission will vary depending on which plane the player is flying.

Battles take place with gun stations and tanks — by land, with helicopters and bombers — by air, or with battleships and submarines by sea. Aero Fighters functions from a top down perspective, which amplifies the overhead shooter action. With so many options in different planes, it takes great skill and flying ability to defeat the aliens and win the game.

Looking for a shooter? AF3 will do the trick. Although there is nothing new here in the way of graphics, sound or style, AF3 will nonetheless keep you pounding away at the fire button. Choose from five different nationalities--each with its own types of planes and wacky pilots. Every plane comes equipped with its own unique, smart bomb that it can use to cause mass destruction. Once in the pilot's seat, all you have to think about is hitting the fire button and collecting power-ups.

Looking much like l94l,AF3's biggest plus is its bosses: they're big, tough and everywhere! You won't play for more than a minute at any given time without bumping into some juggernaut war machine bent on wiping you out. Unfortunately, on the weaker side, the bosses, while plentiful, are uninspired. You can only see so many tanks, ATVs, planes and ships before you break into a yawn. Aero Fighters 3 will surely satisfy your shooter needs, but on the whole, is nothing to cheer about.

But in Aero Fighters. It's not even worth it to collect any of the power-ups. I thought the graphics were okay, and the Bosses were pretty cool, but it really isn't anything that we haven't seen before in a shooter. Playing Aero Fighters was more work than play.

This game is just another of the many shooters that have crashed and burned due to monotony. The graphics are grainy and bland at best. The multiple planes with their own special attacks is a nice touch, but it's a shame that this Is the best it has to offer. Playing Aero Fighters 3 and taking numerous amounts of mandatory hits is not my idea of a good time.

Unless you must own every shooter made for Neo-Geo. I would pass this one up. The graphics of Aero Fighters 3 are grainy and break into the fair category at their best, white the animation would be more welcome on a Bit platform instead of the Neo-Geo. The 10 different planes, each with its own weapon, special attack and customized ending, are a great touch, thankfully adding more replay value for the stack of cash this title demands.
